Aging with Humor

Humorous Side of Getting Older

As I just celebrated a birthday recently, I couldn't help but think about getting older. I wanted to write about the subject without it becoming depressing or crusty. Instead, I ran across a website that had put together a list of observations about aging. Whether you're young, older, LGBT, an ally - or even a sloth* - it is relevant, in MHO. And we need be able to laugh at ourselves too!  Have a read, and a little chuckle for your day! Because, if you're not laughing, you're crying! And who wants to cry on such a beautiful blog!

Thanks to Aging With Humor for the following! You can visit their website here.

And as always, feedback & comments are welcome! Please feel free to leave a comment in the comments bar below! Thanks!

Have a great day everyone!

Observations On Aging

As you get older, your secrets are safe with your friends. They can't remember them either.

You can't stay young forever. But, you can be immature for your entire life.

I live in my own little world. But it's okay --- they know me here.

Forget health food. I'm at the age where I need all the preservatives I can get.

I would be unstoppable, if I could only get started......

Aging: Eventually you will reach a point when you stop lying about your age and start bragging about it.

The older we get, the fewer things seem worth waiting in line for.

Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me! I want people to know 'why' I look this way. I've traveled a long way and many of the roads weren't paved.

You know you are getting old when everything either dries up or leaks.

When you are dissatisfied and would like to go back to your youth, remember Algebra.

One of the many things no one tells you about aging is that it is better than being young.

Being young is beautiful, but being old is comfortable.

First you forget names, then you forget faces. Then you forget to pull up your zipper.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, martini in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO what a ride!"

Happy Sloth

*(I cannot verify if sloths would find this relevant. However, I wanted to include a misunderstood species of the animal world in my comments. I apologize to any sloths out there who may have found my comments offensive. I have included a picture above, to show my support to sloths everywhere!)

Gratitude

Gratitude

Gratitude comes in many forms. Today, I am grateful for being organized & checking off items on my to-do list! That, in itself, has made it a good, successful day - no matter what happens from now until I place my head on my pillow.

What are you grateful for today?

“At the end of the day, let there be no excuses, no explanations, no regrets.”

Welcome

WELCOME!!

Ok, so....I had this idea........ to share my thoughts, interests & other stuff with the world. The only thing was that I couldn't focus on just ONE thing! Had broken rule #1 of blogging - stick to one interest for your page. How was I going to do that? And who would care?

  • I have my LGBT roots, which I wasn't going to stifle (which didn't work, doesn't work & wouldn't work - lol).  You will see ALOT of postings about LGBT issues on here.
  • I try to see the funny side of life. And you will see funny things on here (I hope). I have 2 mantras:

"Keep it simple.......s****d!" and
"If you're not laughing, you're crying."
There is plenty of crying in the world and I'd like to just focus on laughing, if you don't mind. Thank you very much!

  • Music, film, books & art. Most of it is lesbian, some independent & obscure, oldies (I was born in the 60s after all), impressed by talented up & coming artists, performers, filmmakers, writers, etc. of ALL statures!  So do not be surprised if the odd posting of a favorite book, movie or video pops up here!!
  • Miscellaneous. You know - the stuff that MAY or MAY NOT fit in the above categories. Quotes, pictures of pretty flowers or ugly ogres, health issues, humorous memes, embarassing photos.........you get the drift. Speaking of pretty flowers...... here's a picture of one - just to get you started:

It's just a picture of flowers, folks. Nothing to see here. Move along.

Ok. Seriously. I DO hope you find something enjoyable, funny, or motivating about my posts. I look forward to sharing, caring, laughing (or crying) with you!

Catch up with you soon!
